Dave (W0GMO) and I went mobiling up to Wyoming as WT7TT, and drove thru the following counties: Laramie, Albany, Platte, Converse, Niobrara, and Goshen.   Dave operated while I drove.   We stopped at the following county lines: Laramie/Albany, Albany/Platte, Platte/Converse, Converse/Niobrara, Niobrara/Goshen, and Goshen/Larmarie.   Then we would switch operators and I'd operate for a while.      I'm driving a 2006 F150 pickup.   I am using a Icom 706 and 2 mobile whips, 40-10 meters.   One antenna is ham sticks and the other is a spider antenna, which is switchable inside the cab.   We use a old TV tray, (without the stand part) for a lap desk.   Duct tape a clock to it, paper log book, and a keyer.   Easy to use, however we try and run for most part, and put the duping chores on the other stations.   If we get a dupe, we can delete it later. It was a fantastic day, perfect weather, no wind, a little rain at the end of the trip.   We both had a great time and the contest was so much fun.   Like every outing, we learned a lot about what to do next year.   I left my home in Colorado at 5:00 am, picked up Dave at 6:00 am and got into Wyoming at 7:00 am.   Got home at 11:00 pm.   606 miles total from my QTH.   Looking forward to next year.... 73, Greg/W0ZA |
