W7TTE's Antenna Raising Party

Two days before the CQ WW SSB Contest in October, Bill, K7LLC, "AJ", WA7AJ from CODXC and Neil, WA6KLA, from CORA helped me get on the air with an antenna party to raise my new 4 element SteppIR.   We were blessed with a sunny and (relatively) warm day.   Also, there were no winds.   Thanks to everyone for their support.   I managed to get everything working just 45 minutes before the contest.   ;2) Walt, W7TTE

Bill Hall, experienced SteppIR owner, assumes the management position.

Frank from Allied Crane sets up his rig.

Threading the mast into the boom bracket.

Is this really going to work?

Bill, rocking the ladder.

Hanging the cable bundle.

Up, up and away!

Transistioning over to the tower.

Frank bullseyes the thrust bearing.

AJ, try portrait mode!

The W7TTE ham shack with optional house attachment.

What just hit me?

Guiding the mast into the rotator.

Viola! No more SteppIR blocking the driveway!

Frank realizes he has to back out!

Left to Right: AJ, WA7AJ, historian; Bill, K7LLC, management; Neil, WA6KLA, GAP clothing rep
